Officer profiles come from two real source systems: IMPD public discipline records (61 officers) and the ILEA statewide decertification list (129 officers). Fetched March 2026.
OIS (Officer-Involved Shootings) data is displayed as aggregate statistics only. Officers are identified by anonymous internal numbers (OFFNUMs), not public names. No individual officer names attached to OIS incidents.
Incident totals, department rankings, and mapped points come from the BlueLedger Indiana aggregate (derived from public fatality + IMPD use-of-force reporting). Coverage is incomplete after 2021 for non-IMPD agencies.
News cards are filtered from Google News RSS across three lanes: police accountability, community safety (gun violence, homicides), and campus (Ball State, IU, Purdue). Refreshed daily via cron — raw public headlines only, not editorial content.

Officer profiles are real, source-backed records pulled from official public data systems (IMPD discipline table + ILEA PDF). We do not add, remove, or alter names.
Badge numbers are universally unavailable across all sources. Agency is missing for most ILEA decert records because the official PDF does not include it.
Mapped incident points are limited to in-state coordinates. 5 source records were excluded from the map due to missing/invalid coordinates.
Approximate map locations: ~193 incident points are placed at city centroids (low location confidence).
